Aura Sphere by Owen-Phoenix Aura Sphere by Owen-Phoenix
COMMENT before faving, even if it's just a small thing like "nice work", if you don't I will hunt you down and shove your own arms up your ass

This was a test that I did to see how to draw fur
A Lucario holding a rather crappily drawn Aura Sphere.

The fur turned out pretty good I think. I love the lighting in this picture as well.

Thanks! I usually mess up with directional lighting.

Well, it is really hard to get lighting right. I have that problem too.

Step one - Base colour
Step two - add shadows (Soft or hard) and highlights to the base
Step three - Grab a brush on 1-4 pixels and add strokes of a two tones of shadow (One darker, one lighter) and two tones highlight
Step four - Use smudge tool with a brush such as the ones found in the "Wet Media Brushes" or a custom fur brush
Step Q - Make sure the fur is dense enough to seem real (Like on the chest) and not too thin that it seems like a matted fuzz (Like on the legs, it didn't work out there)
